Optimal Starting Strategies
These recommendations are based on analyzing letter frequency and positional probability across all 5-letter English words.
Each word is scored based on how often its letters appear in the dictionary and how well they match common letter positions.
The dictionary this analysis is based on is NOT necessarily the same list the Wordle words are based on.
How It Works
Each word is scored using a combination of:
- Letter Frequency (40%): How common each unique letter is across all 5-letter words
- Position Frequency (60%): How often each letter appears in its specific position
Words with more unique letters and commonly-positioned letters score higher.
